Food Baskets - Ivanhoe Church
will start it's annual food basket drive on November 14th at the
annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Non- perishable food is collected to
help needy families in our community and brighten up their
holidays. You can help by donating non-perishable food items,
which will be collected at the church every Sunday!

Four-Cents-A-Meal-Program - Ivanhoe's
Four Cent A Meal Offering will be collected to
share God’s love with people experiencing need.
More than
800 million people in the world go hungry. In developing
countries, 6 million children die each year, mostly from
hunger-related causes. In the United States, 12 million children
live in households where people have to skip meals or eat less
to make ends meet. That means one in ten households in the U.S.
are living with hunger or are at risk of hunger. Ivanhoe
supports the world program, administered by the Shenandoah
Presbytery, and our local programs, such as the Mathias Food
Bank.

Heifer
- Ivanhoe
Presbyterian Women hopes to enable other women world wide to
help their families by providing them with the animals or
poultry and the skills to care for these animals. By
providing protein for their diets, the overall health of the
entire family is improved. We collect money on the third Sunday
of each month and in January of the following year we decide
which animals that we will provide and send our requests and
money to Heifer International. Ivanhoe PW has collected over
twelve hundred dollars so far this year. More

Community Together
Ivanhoe
Church initiated the "Community Together" program on September 8, 2005 at
Ivanhoe Church, with 28 Christians in attendance. This program
invites all community churches to participate in Bible Study, Hymn
Sing, Fellowship and enjoy a great meal too. Our program has
continued ever since, with many local churches hosting the Community
Together activities. This is a good program with many guest speakers
and talented performers! If you are interested in attending, participating or
have questions,

Don’t miss it!
Ivanhoe Bereavement
Support Group
The Presbyterian Women
of Ivanhoe recently broadened their community outreach when they
formed a Grief Support Group for those who have suffered recent
loss. The group, which meets on the first Tuesday evening of each
month, is the result of training in volunteer service from the Grant
Memorial Hospice Program, Petersburg, West Virginia. It was
organized and led by Mrs. Joyce McNeil, BSW, who is the Volunteer
and Bereavement Coordinator in Hardy and surrounding counties. The
sessions have been well attended thus far. It is hoped that the
endeavors of this group will offer not only comfort and
encouragement for those who are hurting, but will add to the
spiritual growth of the church and community. See our calendar for
meeting dates.
Birthday Celebration
Ivanhoe Church has recently initiated a
bi-monthly birthday celebration dinner in honor of members and
friends of the congregation. The celebration dinner is held after
Sunday Worship Service, with specific dates provided on the church
calendar,
